We're now officially married! Last Monday, June 14 we've went to the Las Pinas City hall and we've finally tied the knot via an intimate ceremony in front of a judge. When we said intimate, it's just us really, a judge and two witnesses who are the judge's staff. We could have gone without any witness at all but since it's required to have them, we decided to get the people there instead of having any of our family members to limit the contact with other people. As of writing, our application for a license is now on the way. We were able to do everything in one day with not much hassle but it took some hours to finish since we started the process. It's a bit different than before but man, I love that we didn't have to take a leave on another day (other than getting the license obviously).  Requirements 1. CENOMAR -PSA copy, 210 PHP at SM Business Center; will take almost 2 weeks 2. Birth Certificate - PS copy, 155 PHP at SM Business Center; will take a week 3. Government IDs with Mandaluyong address. Old bills, minimum 6 months prior can be submitted as well in lieu. I prepared 3 bills for this, Meralco, Globe and Assoc Dues and the processor only got the Meralco one (photocopy).  I've written the other post last year in hopes that I would eventually get back to it soon. But July, our initial date came and went and nothing happened.  We were able to receive our rings by September IIRC, it was delivered to us with no fees and no hassle and it was exactly how we remembered seeing it on display back at the wedding fair.  By January 2021, still no hope that a mass gathering is feasible and we were forced to let go of our reservation at Oasis Manila, that's 65k non refundable deposit right there. I agree that it's serious money we had to let go but I thought that better lose 65k NOW than lose more (since they're already asking for more money) and only have a few people attend. At this point I'm not really keen in inviting anyone to share the same air in a closed space for 3 hours. My conscience would not allow it. Even though they're saying that we can still invite 100 guests out of 200 initial plan, I still don't find the deal worth it. ...

So.. we’re getting married! No, I didn’t get any proposal of any kind, we just talked about it and headed to look for churches one Saturday. We’re looking for somewhere in the north, and since I am not the Catholic, I don’t have much requests other than the ff: 1. Ample Parking 2. Decent interior 3. Accepts mixed marriages I would love to present this as a per church thing but I think it’s best to present it by how it all happened because this spanned a few weeks. + It all started on January 11 +  So first we went to The Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Cubao . It was huge and looks so clean. They were able to accommodate us at 1pm. Their price is around 30k++. One huge advantage of this church is that it is right in front the chancery that handles everything related to mixed marriages and foreign partners. They do have a lot of venues although none of them I felt connected with even at Isla Palma, a shaded open air venue that have a pool (which we found out could be rented for swimming) and where the bridal fair was held. We also saw their Ylang Ylang hall which I think would work even if it's another outdoor venue. I'm not sure if it's the current weather but the temperature is nice and would probably be colder at night. They said they don't have mosquitoes too. It's a simple nipa hut but would probably look magical at night with all the trimmings. Either a rustic or Filipiniana theme would look perfect here. I am OK with the venue, kind of thought about it especially that the price is affordable (it's even in the 99k package). Initially we doubted the quantity on the check list at our table but then there it is, they have multiples of everything! They first serve you appetizers and then they let you roam around their tables for mains, pasta and desserts. The sampler is just OK but didn't provide too much of an impression. Also it's something to note that we came there the earliest but probably served the last :-(. We weren't even able to wait for the dessert they prepared which was served as soon as we stood up to leave. They do have an irresistable 99k package. If you're strapped for cash you'd only need rings and clothes and possibly trim your guest list to just 98 people (that's minus you and the groom). There are 3 sets of food you can choose from as well, but really limited to just 3 mains. This is officially our First Food Tasting event. Reagan and I have already stopped going to Bridal Fairs mostly because I don't want to anymore. Going at those events only keep my hopes up that we are going to get married soon but is so far from the truth. We don't have a date, I don't even have a ring (why did I even tell him I don't need one?) to even validate that this is indeed happening and not just "one of those talks". My heart sinks a little at those bridal fairs whenever I get the question of "when" so might as well not go altogether. It's a blur on how last weekend (Nov 26) we ended up at Blue Gardens (Commonwealth). We got the easiest way to go there: MRT up to Centris, hailed a taxi there and whoala, we've already arrived. My initial impression going there is not too good, the road is just too cramped for comfort. It is absolutely far from being a subdivision at all. Last Saturday ( Weddings & Beyond ) was the 3rd bridal fair we've ever been. It's the largest so far that the pile of paper I got from there got so heavy it's almost  heavier than my bag (which is very much light being a girl). But it was the most "worth it" fair we've ever been so no complaints here. We're not officially engaged (not having a ring and all, but that's okay, at least my man takes me to fairs :-D) so it's kind of weird going with no answer to the question: "When?" I know for sure that it won't be this year, and next year sounds too near... but I would absolutely love that so we can get it over with as soon as we can. Our current savings are almost 50% set aside for that purpose (target is 500k) and we have yet to complete it by this year (being an adult entails lots of responsibilities aka as bills).
