CAVITE DIARIES: Gingerbread House and Reptiland Adventure (10.01.2022)

Image
This is going to be one of those posts where we had to plan a day in haste.  So my cousins suddenly arrived at our family house. Since they're coming with us to visit our father in Manila Memorial we thought we might make it a day instead of grocery day.  + Gingerbread House + Gingerbread house is one of those places that I always heard but hasn't been. Apparently it has changed through the years that it has added more features and as we've went there still expanding. Other than the large Gingerbread house that doubles as their dining area, they now have little pockets of places for kids to run and play and some places for couples as well. They also have varying tiers of entrance fees:   Photo courtesy of my sister . Visit her shop!  For a Gingerbread House I was hoping there's a wafting air of baking gingerbread or perhaps cinnamon or chocolate or maybe pine (?) just for the Christmas theme. But I suppose it's too much to ask since that's probably a hard thing ...

CAVITE DIARIES: Nurture Wellness Village (06.12.2022)

Image
I think our life now involves a weekend in Tagaytay since it's the closest we can go to where it's easier for us to come home after. I was mulling in grabbing a 3 day stay BUT I'm still iffy leaving our house unattended for that long and not to mention the landscaped plants outside of the house, who would water them?! We eventually decided the last minute (this is almost literal) to just book a place for overnight for our upcoming Anniversary on Tuesday. My office is on a holiday on the 13th so we thought maybe we could celebrate earlier than on Tuesday so I don't need to file for an absence.  + The Booking + Saturday night Reagan found Nurture Wellness Village . I told him I've been there before with my family but as I would witness firsthand it has changed a lot (to be fair we went there 2016 pa) . He tried calling all the numbers and eventually PM'd them via FB . Their replies are very slim and the night came and went, they still haven't replied to him th...

CAVITE DIARIES: Queen's Strawberry Farm (05.08.2022)

Image
For Mother's Day (yeah I know it's already June as I'm writing this) we decided to go somewhere near Tagaytay. It's hard to look for place where you not just go out to eat but maybe do a little bit of sight seeing so it's not a brainer that I got everyone to a place we haven't been to: Queen's Strawberry Farm . If you've ever been to Sonia's it's near it, so maybe just move your map a wee bit to see where the place is. It's not that new, but it does look like it doesn't get that much publicity yet because even though there are already cars around when we arrived, it wasn't hard for us to secure a seat on one of their restaurants.  Queen's has a lot of plants although a landscape planning could be in order because it seemed like it wasn't as professionally done, like again and this is the last time I'm mentioning it, Sonia's. There are some areas that needs to have be fixed and even though it's a fairly new place, i...

CAVITE DIARIES: Church Pilgrimage: Coastal Circuit (4.15.2022)

Image
On the image: I was particularly inspired to make this flyer like image from Canva. It looked nice in my own standards. Maybe I'll do it when we try to do the other circuits too! As you know Reagan and I have acquired a house last year and I can't for the life of me imagine leaving our home for more than a day with no one to take care of it. I was convincing my sisters to babysit the house but they couldn't leave our million dogs. So basically we didn't plan anything for the long weekend last Holy Week and at the same time it's still the pandemic. BUT, youngest suggested to do a pilgrimage of sorts in spite of us not being Roman Catholics. We collectively just love going to old churches so why not.  From the Cavite FB page there are 3 circuits, coastal, upper and midland. Upper is probably the worst option because of, well...Tagaytay, Midland is ... meh, we're already at midland, so we went with the coastal circuit instead. Being our place of residence is much...
