You mean to say Bianca's been coming to PH even before the pandemic?! I found that she had an event probably a day or two before the early bird sale date in an accident. I can't even recall how I ended up finding out but I'm glad to have else I would have been so pissed.  A bit of backstory I am not a fan of most reality competition shows nowadays but at some point I did watch a few Project Runway, ANTM and even RuPaul's Drag Race when I was younger. But because of other shows and maybe the lack of resource where to watch them I moved on to serials instead.  Then pandemic came and even though it's easing, 3 years is a short time for watching all the shows I missed. Based on a Shakesperian tragedy Coriolanus, Coriolano is it's Filipino adaptation which as I've researched performed as in Wikipedia in times of political turmoil. Talk about being extremely timely. As much as I would like to delve into that there's too much noise around it already so let's just discuss the play instead. *Spoilers at this paragraph down here: Here's a compressed plot: Coriolano was a courageous Roman general who was enjoying success on merit. His downfall started when he was pushed by his mother to politics unto which his detractors defeat him through gossip and lies which again wasn't a difficult feat because he was already infamous among the masses being impatient towards them and short tempered. Not until I was seated did I realize that I have not seen a ballet performance before-- and the one with Lisa Macuja at Star City does not count I think (that was ages ago too!). Since it's my first time to watch I DIDN'T KNOW that ballets could (at this point I'm still guessing) have opening performanceS. Yes, that's not a typo, a large S because there were 4. Concerts have it, so far the musicals I've been to didn't have any so color me surprised when on the second performance it confused me a lot on what happened to the colorful costumes I've been seeing on their posters and the narrative I'm supposed to be seeing. There's a lot of tone colors, blacks and reds. I remembered skimming through the program and seeing something about "The Beginning of All Things". When I heard that this would be the last run of the musical based on Sugarfree's songs, I thought it would be nice to support a local production. We were able to get the 2nd to the last day of the show on an most opportune day (Sat). Too bad Ebe didn't show up  (we were expecting him on the last shows but oh well). Sa Wakas revolved on the love life of Topper and recalls the story of the two women he fell in love with, Lexi and Gabbie that unfortunately was an overlap. He recalls the important events, how they met, the beautiful moments in between and how it have become sour. The audience are tossed in varying situations that more or less we have experienced alike sometime in our lives. They didn't set us up for outrageous meetups which I truly like. Obviously this has not missed my radar. The first time I have heard of it I immediately followed their PH page and made them appear first on my feed. And on a strike of luck while we were on a train at Japan I checked Facebook to see a fresh post of them giving away passes. I don't know why I resisted so long to go. I wasn't that much excited even though History and FYI are one of the few channels I stay on the TV. But the sisters are quite insistent so here we are attending. The entrance is quite cheap and I haven't been out for the weekend so what the heck (250PHP for a day pass). We arrived around lunchtime so the line is not as long going in. Obviously the first thing we did was get the freebie bag (literally just the bag with nothing on it, lanyards just ran out). It was on a separate hall where all the food and some merchandise where situated, a few exhibits (livestock petting, exotic pets, Tiny House sample) and a stage. On this hall we were able to spot Simon Yin shooting a video and John Weisbarth and Zack Giffin on stage (on a later part of the day).   I don't think I would pass another opportunity for a Wicked fix. I missed out on their last run here so might as well say yes when my boss is eager to watch it too! + Solaire Theater + A bit too steep for my taste. I appreciate where we sat (1st row of the 2nd floor, by the ledge. The 4k++ one) but the ledge handles are obstructing a few inches of my view. What I meant by this is that when the singers go right at the edge of the stage considering my height, I need to lean a bit just for the full view. A taller guy wouldn't have this problem. Anyhow, if the chance may arise again I would probably choose this still. The acoustics are audible at this height anyway and leaning a bit is not so much as a deal breaker. Oh my. Finally!! It's one of those bands that you grew up with that although you rarely have in your playlist anymore, you stop every once in a while to listen and you remember when your youth and how even though it has been a long time, the lyrics are still fresh on your head. So even though it's not in our plans, I could not resist not to watch. There was no front act, not as much as a decor on the stage, just the band and their instruments. I didn't notice this before with other bands BUT this is the first time that I've witnessed the lead to change guitars on EVERY SONG. For the first time I've paid for a concert. For the first time I set foot on the actual Araneta coliseum. For the first time I've seen a celebrity (-ies) I'm s o fond of. All because of The Script. I've only heard of the concert weeks before I've already set my budget for another concert I wanted to give as a gift to someone special (hihi!) so I was a bit disappointed to not have anticipated such expense and missed buying patron seats. MY FIRST BLOGAPALOOZA EVAAAR! October is a hectic month for me (every week is an affair) and this is one I haven't had a chance to be in before. It was good enough that the original date was cancelled, long enough for me and my sister to sign up. As said on the ad, you only need to register to qualify for entrance. So with no time to waste, we registered as soon as we can (I even furiously changed my new FB account's link just to sound legit). Two of my officemates are die hard fans (they won't find this blog anyway haha) of Mraz and they were very keen in his second coming (ba dum tss!). They didn't have very good seats last time so we spent more than we should, garnering seats at the pit, perfect to see him in person. It was raining that night and it was unfortunate for the throng of fans lining up just to get in. We're lucky to get in as quick with the tickets we have AND, what do you know, they allowed our camera in yay! Just be clear I am not one of those girls who suddenly learned guitars when it became a guy magnet. In fact I don't know how to play the guitar, let alone any instrument. So in any day, I would overlook this event in any means possible. But today and the rest of the days (cross fingers) it is not any day. I oblige myself to be (somewhat) immersed in a hobby I know someone likes. Meeting at MOA we chose to ride in those cute little vehicles that roam the CCP grounds.
