Black Mirror (Season 4)

Image
It's safe to say that most who watched this had to google if he was in fact Matt Damon with prosthetics. Yes, me included. It felt  so amazing that they dropped the full season at Netflix on my birthday. I wasn't able to watch it on the day being on another country and all but as soon as I got my bearings, I got through the entire season in about 3 days. I have even finished the series even before I got rid of all my stuff splayed about on my floor. The overall feel of the entire season was like getting a box of assorted chocolates. Of all the seasons, 4 was more diverse and even though they show you that all of the anthologies were all part of the same universe, it couldn't even be more different. In this season, my most favorite would have to be USS Callister and the least is Metalhead.  Don't get me wrong, Metalhead is still watchable but I didn't have the slightest empathy for the character regardless of what they made of the ending. The tone and color of the ep...

The 50 Peso Challenge

Image
There was one segment of Jessica Soho last year that I diligently followed out of all the viral things they've shown there: the 50 Peso Challenge. The premise is every time you get a 50 peso bill, you are not allowed to spend it. The girl on the video was for 3 months already accumulated 40k worth of bills. In comparison, I only got half of her amount for almost a year of saving. This is because unlike her, I got all of my 50s  organically . I never resorted to exchange my 1000 peso bill to 50s for the sake of it. All the bills I got were actual change when I spend. Based on the interviews she goes out of her way getting the 50 peso bills she could put in her piggy bank. It only translates to me how she's a pathological spender who suddenly tightened her belt. It was extremely hard at first. The rest of the year was an arduous feat of calming myself when I get all 50s as change. There was even a time when the meal was 150, so I added water just to get the bill total 170PHP . I ...

T&J Travels #9: Kuala Lumpur & Melaka 2017 (Part 10)

Image
+ Batu Caves + We woke up later than usual so we arrived at the station almost 11AM. It's a very convenient tourist spot because once you're out of the station you are literally walking right through the gates. If you plan on feeding the monkeys now is the best time to buy them bananas Thankfully the Indian gods made sure we got a cloudy day. Not rainy and no harsh sun like we had our first day.  Walking through the path towards the famous gold Buddha, I really thought there aren't much people. Not until we arrived at the square did we see where all the tourists are. Because it's almost noon, we decided to eat lunch first. We were joking that we are not going to eat anywhere that only had vegetarian food but since there is no option, I just randomly picked somewhere that had a free table. The dishes here are of Indian origin, none that I know of (except for the Pratta). I picked a combo meal that looked like the ones the other tables have. I enjoyed ...

Japan Visa

Image
When I was younger, I have applied for a Citibank credit card. I know I am trusty when it comes to finances but for reasons only Citibank knows I haven't had any feedback from them. Since then I am always scared when it comes to applying for things that involve background checks on financial capabilities. Luckily for me I didn't have to apply for a credit card and my home loan was easily granted. But I didn't forget that Citibank thing I am led to believe I will have the same fate of rejection when we applied for a Japan Visa. I didn't know that my boyfriend would agree to this since we've already talked about going to Malaysia last and then we'd restart saving for our wedding. I know he's torn about doing this (and me too) but we believe it's the best time for us to try the application while we can. There are already tons of blogs regarding Filipinos getting a Japan Visa but in case you dear reader has stumbled upon this entry of mine, I'll jus...

My First Home Loan! (SECB)

Image
Hooray!!! I'm ecstatic! I just received my schedule with Security Bank with my Home Loan and I couldn't be any happier. I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't make it with my deadline but it seems like my schedule was perfect. For a first timer this is not bad :-D December I have no experience in loans, except for the one I did with SSS* so I don't know what to do. I did prepare myself with the most important document I have on my disposal which is my FORM 1701 (Annual Tax) so I think I have a bit of chance there to be approved. While I'm not broke, most of the money I have are either invested, not liquid or something I could not present. Other than my current responsibilities with the DP of the condo and other bills, a huge chunk of my salary goes to a joint account for our wedding. On my first attempts to apply for a loan I had a friend of mine who is affiliated with the developer question the bank account, since my boyfriend who shares the joint account with me is n...
