Quotables#2: Run Fatboy Run (1.23.2010)

I don't know it with you but I rarely watch Love/Chick Flicks. But it doesn't mean that I don't get all mushy when I watch movies that inspite of not a certified date film, would still get one thinking and touched in a way too. Of all the quotes, this is one of my latest favorites delivered by the main character who ran away from his pregnant bride on the day of their wedding: 'You know, I mean, I didn't do you any favours on that day, ok? I did a stupid, stupid thing. But it was only because I thought spoiling your day was better than ruining your life. Does that make any sense? '- Dennis (Simon Pegg, Run Fatboy Run) Not all men have that kind of reason to do so. Either they stay to give you hell you don't deserve or just simply run because they're having cold feet, not being ready enough, not being mature enough. For those who have watched this they may think that this maybe the best excuse yet. But for us women, it's just a mean way of ending a

It's Official. I am now a Nikola Tesla fan. (1.22.2010)

It all started with my usual web surf during lunchtimes. I was at theoatmeal*, reading some random stuff when I clicked on a link on one of the artist's work which sent me the badass* link, kept on reading the lengthy entry (imagine Wiki with humor) and from there I began reading more about him at other sites and I can't help but be impressed! To the uninitiated, Nikola Tesla is Thomas Edison's in exaggerated terms, archnemesis. There was in our time way back even before we were all born, the War of the Currents-- Team Tesla's with Alternating Current and Edison with the Direct Current. To us commoners, we only needed to remember that majority of what we use today is AC-- beat that Edison**! Not only that, Tesla has this eidetic memory and develops his invention from his head, guys. From his head!!! Imagine making blueprints by merely thinking of it!! Reading more about Tesla and his episodes with Edison making me go on with Tesla's side all the more. It doesn

Isang Napakalaking Kaastigan (1.8.10)

Rating: Category: Books Genre: Entertainment Author: Vlad Bautista Gonzales Of all the acquired books from the past year I can't believe that I will start the year with the lamest one yet. It doesn't even deserve to be even called weird. I didn't know what he was trying to convey, he wasn't funny and he wasn't inspiring. It wasn't even creative writing. It's one of those times you imagine how in the hell did he manage to acquire a publisher when he doesn't make sense? The thought of everything he says is all out of place and it was like reading a continouos blog entry of some guy you don't care about yet he tells you anyway. Like so what and who cares when he tells you about his telenovela story? I don't. It's not even worth the almost 200php I bought it for. He may be a comedian in real person (he constantly tells you that he can make people laugh without any intentions of doing so) but it certainly didn't work in writing. I doub

I swear I haven't photoshopped this! I took this on our way to church and you can just imagine how hard it was to snap them a shot because they were so fast. Zoom in if you may. All I know is that this pet-owner relationship is truly awesome!

Rawr Tigers! (1.9.10)

You'd just know how terrible of a blogger I am when I usually write/post later than I should. And this time around I haven't posted anything of the past year's important events and that includes photos. Like our bad experience on Christmas Day at Don Henrico's who served us food that was terrible because it tasted like it has been standing there for a long time already and in contrast, my wonderful first time to eat at Bubba Gump on my birthday with a special guy. I didn't blog both (well I did the birthday blog but I am selfish to keep it on the drafts) because i'm freakingly lazy inspite of having 2 weeks of holiday. Yes. 2 weeks of doing nothing. Enough about me let's round up atleast 10 things of what we had last year: 1. The deaths of a lot of highly celebrated people locally and abroad, the one most shocking for me is Brittany Murphy and the other, who I just found out was a real person, Les Paul. I always thought it was just a fancy name for a guita

Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love (12.29.09)

Rating: ★ Category: Movies Genre: Kids & Family Note: Ok, BEFORE you raise your eyebrows on why I watched this, please take notice of the DATE. Yeap. My birthday. And the reason behind for why WE chose this does not need to be explained. Let me give you a hint: 'a lot of available seats'. No one knows when this would stop. I remembered I watched the first one (oh Ma!) and the gist of the story hasn't deviated that much from the original. It that's what they did from 2-6 I'm beginning to think the writers are splicing up formulas over and over in hopes that no one would notice. They'd also made use of actors from previous installments. Only Zsa Zsa I found effective. I don't exactly like her but whenever she portrays a Chinese it's convincing. But if she'd play that role to a million other Mano Po installments it's going to be tiring. If the first movie you feel like it's some Monteverde tribute to the Chinese commun
