CAVITE DIARIES: Queen's Strawberry Farm (05.08.2022)
For Mother's Day (yeah I know it's already June as I'm writing this) we decided to go somewhere near Tagaytay. It's hard to look for place where you not just go out to eat but maybe do a little bit of sight seeing so it's not a brainer that I got everyone to a place we haven't been to: Queen's Strawberry Farm.
If you've ever been to Sonia's it's near it, so maybe just move your map a wee bit to see where the place is. It's not that new, but it does look like it doesn't get that much publicity yet because even though there are already cars around when we arrived, it wasn't hard for us to secure a seat on one of their restaurants.
Queen's has a lot of plants although a landscape planning could be in order because it seemed like it wasn't as professionally done, like again and this is the last time I'm mentioning it, Sonia's. There are some areas that needs to have be fixed and even though it's a fairly new place, it does seem like most of the stuff here feels so worn out. There are places that needs grass but doesn't, there's pipes that probably need fixing and some bit of eye sores I wish they can take care of in the future.
Anyways enough nitpicking. Each person will have to cough up 50 PHP as entrance fee. It's consumable so you can use it to offset some of the things you purchase within the compound. Don't forget to pay your food with it, although they usually mention the tickets before you pay.
Guess what? They let you pay via GCash!
Before we started to roam about we decided to eat first. They have two restaurants but we ate here since it's the nearest and we didn't know there's another larger one at the end of the farm. Anyways, their food is delicious and well priced. Would love to go back to try their salad which is actually a real salad when I see one. It's full to the brim with greens and everything. I hope it was something we ordered. Strawberry milkshake seems to be the bestseller as well. Everyone loved it too.
I don't have the will to put an effort in taking a photo of food, I'm just stupidly hungry!
There are some activities you can do here, like fishing (which as we witnessed with one of the guests is very easy to do), feeding the fish (20PHP for a small bag of feed), farming (nah that last one is a lie) and mostly take photos. There's also an area exclusive area for kids to play. You can actually leave them there if you want peace and quiet while eating. Or maybe have them play the whole day while you sit around waiting for them to pass out so they'd be quiet on the road home.
There's a small safe ride inside but I just noticed I have no photos for it!
You can fish here. When we're there the rod is free for use but you have to pay for the fish. They can also cook it for you.
They also have a venue at the very end of the farm which is a larger place to eat in and they say at times they have buffets at. I wish they had one when we were there. They totally missed that moment didn't they? It's exactly Mother's day and that would have brought in more people especially that they don't have an event that day anyway, they could even had a band! Now by event I mean weddings. The path to that area is a bit... not friendly for high heel wearers. I wonder how the entourage and guests would feel like walking toward it. Or maybe it's just silly old me who trips at anything.
For a strawberry farm, it's not what you imagine how it would like. I've been to the one in Baguio where it's just fields and fields of farms and this one is just... bags of. But nonetheless it's not what you go there for anyway. Come to see what's there but get back again and again for their food. Would have wanted to try out their strawberry pies but even early in the morning and they already have no stock nor do they have any plans of baking more. Again, it's Mother's Day, you kind of expect to double stocks on everything no? That's just ridiculous, wasting profit away. You can do better Queen's! You've got great potential.
