Thoughts on our Valentine's Date

Image
Have I just posted a Rom-Com at my blog?!!! What am I thinking!! Whenever people ask who came up with the idea of watching Starting Over Again this Valentine's I point to my boyfriend. I don't watch Romance movies too often, let alone a local one. Maybe that's the reason why he invited me in the first place for a change. Prior to this though a good friend of mine kept on making me watch Pinoy Romantic movies on every opportunity she gets. She was successful in about 3 of them I think. My sisters also insisted in us seeing Bride for Rent which was just OK. It was a weird experience seeing it in the movie house. It was a rom-com but the only times I laughed (twice I think) were the only times no one did. I don't know what to make out of it. It's either there is something wrong with me or them. So anyway, we watched Starting Over Again and it had a lovely ending-- SPOILER ALERT -- They didn't end up with each other. Now before you react violently ...

TME: NBI Clearance Again!

Image
Before we start let me remind you that you are actually reading a post of mine because you are too lazy to go directly to their website to learn how. That or you were confused where the heck is the NBI website because clearly the one in NBI 's button isn't working for the NBI Clearance site (who makes these websites, don't they have a QA?) ; yeah it's a different site I know. Here's a summary: http://www.nbi.gov.ph/  --> This is where you go when you feel like reading their achievements and whatever announcement they can think of https://nbi-online.com/  --> This is where you go when you need to apply for an NBI Clearance. Now, you are still lazy to go there to learn the steps HOW TO APPLY FOR ONE? Fine. Read on. We are all aware of the long queues in government offices (Why don't they just hire more people? Don't we have tons of jobless graduates?) so you've probably heard that you can go straight to Photo taking stage and Claiming but...

Recommends: Chicago KTV

Image
If there's one business that would surely hit amongst the throng of offices in the Ortigas area, it has got to be KTV bars (at tie with buffets). I rarely go into one but since we are minutes away from Metrowalk and Home Depot, this had remained our popular destination. Last Friday we've went to a different KTV, this time at Chicago when one of my officemates suggested it. Their package is really tempting, a room for 10 people can cost as much as 4k consumable and 350 for time extensions. This is much cheaper than Redbox per person and provides more food options than Music Match where they offer food sets and drinks of choice. The room is very simple although they've made up for it by adding a lighting feature that follows the beat of the current song. The TV is not even wide screen and they still use songbooks which kind of limits one's search for that elusive song you fail to remember the title. They also have this photo op thing which may be added t...

Unprofessional Movie Review: 47 Ronin

Image
If there's one beloved country in the world, it has got to be Japan. Just look at all those language tutorials being taught by Western people and say it isn't so. There is not one thing in (almost) anyone's life that is not from or originated from Japan (probably next to China) so this type of movie would not be short in audience me and bf included. - Disappointments - TO SUB OR NOT TO SUB Maybe they've thought majority of the viewers aren't used to having subs so they've opted English to their actors. No one cared how the letter R is hard for them nor how their intonation would sound so forced. THE MISSING TATOO GUY In the poster you get to see 4 people, Keanu (Kai), The Witch, The Demon and The Savage. All but one had an ample amount of time on screen. The tatoo guy had a very simple line that no one would ever care about. He's just there and could easily pass off as an extra. Why add him in the poster at all? Maybe when he was paid by the ho...

My Very First Post for The Year 2014

Image
That's disheartening. Seeing that the last post I did was  nothing more than a simple gif, it seemed like I have lost writing into my life. I haven't written anything in months and it does feel like I have abandoned one of my supposedly passions. I know I love writing, but I have gone terribly lazy. And to think I have already made myself close to work (just two MRT stations away). I think one of the reasons is that my laptop is rarely used anymore, even my iPad gets little attention nowadays. That being, no posts. I have spent my free time to TV, playing with my phone, catching up on my reading and the occasional crafting. I know I have tons to write but I have gone lazy with all my alibis. So for this New Year, even if I don't believe in resolutions, I will try to make time to write a post each week no matter what it is. As I've intended from the start, blogging is supposed to be my practice to become a better writer. How else will I be able to accomplish my d...

MIBF 2013 Stash (9.15.2013)

Image
I've got less books this time BUT, a big change of game in MIBF this year, it's much rewarding for those who really wanted to find something to read. I've been going every year and to me this is the best yet. More bookstores for novels unlike before that focused on textbooks and kid's stuff. So here's my stash: Philippine Folk Literature Series (UP) There are 6 of these and I do love collections but I just can't imagine buying all because these are too thick! The Riddles if I can remember was the thickest and I although it would bring me so much joy having a new collection, I just want to lessen my unread books. Each book costs 700 php. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan I've read a few books of David Levithan's and this was brought to my attention finding other books of his. This is a collaboration with John Green, writing a specific Will Grayson per chapter. It was a fun to read I finished in a few days. Here...
