Infernal Affairs 1 (7.25.9)

Image
Rating: ★★★★ Category: Movies Genre: Foreign One of the things that I was a bit worried about was it looked old already. But I think a sign of a really good movie is when it surpasses time and is still something worthwhile to watch something like this. Even without the flashy cars and gadgets, this is still as adrenaline pumping as it gets. I was even having a hard time on who I should be having a crush on (something out of the movie but I have a need to mention), whether it would be one of my oldest crushes Edison Chen, or now, Andy Lau or Tony Leung who is freakingly similar to someone I liked back from college. Knowing that there are 3 installments of Infernal I thought I'd be seeing Leung's character on the next ones but seeing now that he's (well sorry for spoiling you) dead by the end I can't imagine how the other ones would be like. But yeah. I loved it. I'd say it beat out a lot of cop movies from Hollywood just by mere screenplay. And wow. Wh...

Rainy Days and Mondays (7.13.9)

Rainy Days and Mondays (7.13.9) Sleepless nights it's no wonder I got late again coming to work. I even reached my station minutes later than my officemate who almost always comes last and late than the rest in the 4th floor (I'm hoping he hasn't read this or it's meatloaf again). And then there's the rain by noon. There is nothing more ironic than being dismissed early (I was told there was a strike) and still gets home late due to a series of things. With rain comes heavy traffic. And obviously if the company you're in does an early dismissal then it's no wonder others would do the same. But out of everything, obviously it's the rain that I don't like the most. I do love it when I'm at home, the feeling of never getting up of bed is so wonderful and brings back memories of school days but now as an employee, that's one more simple pleasure slashed out of my list or probably for most. Gone are the days when all you have to do is hope that P...

Do you think I'm pretty? (9.11.9)

Weeks ago, while watching a show for stand-up comedians, there was this fat contestant, (notice I said she was fat, for you to get the point) that she said that in summer time she usually just hides in her house, away from the beach where skinny girls in their skimpy outfits are aplenty. But when it gets cold that is when she goes boy-hunting because ‘those skinny girls would eventually have to wear something’. She also added, ‘what would they do then, talk?’ then everyone laughs. It’s a lot more like a blonde joke, but what she just said encompasses everyone especially those who don’t see that funny because they are the epitome of it. Face it. Rare is it would you find anyone who is basically good looking and brainy at the same time. Usually it’s just one of those. There are, however, a lot of trying hard-to-be-smart types who doesn’t seem to realize they are only making a fun of themselves when they open their mouth and it’s not even close to funny. Forgive me for bringing...

I Just Wrote Something for Mr. Jackson and It's a Bit Late. (7.4.9)

As a self-proclaimed blogger (I don't even know if I have to) I think I owe it to myself that I, atleast, like most who writes online, write something with a current issue. Bloggers are obviously, people who does not simply say 'yes' or 'no' but they are those who aren't afraid to speak out their own opinions. But if we are talking 'current' this isn't anything at all, and I'm afraid I'd write a little bit too late. I know Ed won't see it as such but I know that most people shrug off posts that aren't posted on time. Oh what the heck. I'd quote Ed again 'my blog, my rules'. So there you go. I know Usher and Justin Timberlake are both MJ fans. I'm not sure if Britney is too but I'm 50% sure she is. I'm saying this because of two things: 1. They are the people I grew up listening to back on their days, meaning the closest ones who share Michael's influence, and 2. They see MJ as a pop icon, and the masses do...

The Last Disciple (6.29.09)

Rating: ★★★ Category: Books Genre: Literature & Fiction Author: Hank Hanegraff & Sigmund Brouwer The previous book I was riding was too classic for me (meaning much stressful) so I opt to read this instead and put that one off for another day. A Christian officemate of mine asked if it was anything like the Da Vinci Code but it wasn't any close. It was written by two Christians as well who have devised a story that puts the story of the Revelation on the time of the tribulation. For men who has already written dozens of books, it's no wonder that the pacing of the story is so manageable you could read it in between my form of work. They've also included history and much have I learned about Nero, Romans, Jews who are usually slaves and the horror of the sufferings of Christians at that time. The coding that they've used even enticed my interest on the Greek and Hebrew letters. What surprised me though was how (remember the other Doulos book, Gospel According to ...

Toycon 2009 (9.13.9)

Original Link @ zyrie15.multiply.com Oh yeah! We're else would you gather cosplay-hungry kids and toy-enthusiasts in one roof?! Just Toycon of course! And since I'm on a roll, why else would I miss this once a year opportunity to even be there? I was supposed to be meeting the Salimpusa Team (Me, Mark, Jin, Wilvic) to talk about the plan for the Manila Komikon and this is the best time to hold it. Too bad Mark hasn't come so I'm left with Wilvic and my sister almost the entire time (Jin took Fheb home then came back in hopes Mark would eventually show up). The day started with me and my sister waiting at French Baker for them to let us in. By the time we reached the Megatrade Hall the line was so long we should have chosen to come from the 2nd line of elevators from the last one on Mega B. After a long wait we were finally in, and yeah. No cosplayers, yet. Most of the first photos I have were just endless collection of toys for sale and in exhibit. No complains there si...

Reasons For Sleeping And Waking Up Early

DISCLAIMER: Just found on the Intranet at the office. I don't know where Ms. Kaye found it. But this is a nice thing to remember so I'd like to share it to everyone. Evening at 9 - 11pm: is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health. Evening at 11pm - 1am: is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state. Early morning 1 - 3am: detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state. Early morning 3 - 5am: detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no n...
