The Obligatory 2015 Wrap up!

Image
Hooray another year! This year has been awfully wonderful! Here are some of the highlights: 1. I finally turned 29 on my birthday ( on the 29th!!)! [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="960" caption="c/o Kitchen Seventy One"] [/caption] 2. Bf  and I were finally able to travel: Corregidor, Baguio and Bohol respectively. Hopefully next year we can target overseas trips! 3. Got myself new hobbies (calligraphy, color, puzzle) 4. Witnessed one of my oldest friends' wedding, I'm expecting another one next year. I'm so happy for them! 5. I would also like to add my home loan experience with SecB (will write that once fully completed) which made me anxious at first, but was approved later on (to my relief). 6. Another successful The Script concert! 7. Being able to win at a Cablelink promo (Sony goodies) and at Nailaholics (overnight stay at La Chevrerie, hence we were able to have a Batangas-Tagaytay roadtrip)! 8. All those food trips too

Flirt: Waxing!

Image
[caption id="attachment_2546" align="aligncenter" width="400"] Image from beautystat.com[/caption] Before the wedding I attended earlier this month, I went on to have my face waxed this time. I also had my underarms undergo it too, just in case it really is a better option for me other than shaving and plucking. The first area we had waxed are my underarms. Maybe because of years of plucking, my tolerance there is really high. I was really giggling the whole time. I haven't felt a single sting even if it was threaded at the end. I really enjoyed the experience. I even found out that I'm more ticklish on my right than my left. Then comes the face. Sh*t. For those of you without any facial hair you guys are lucky bastards. It stung so hard but it was so quick, I have no time to react. It felt like a part of my skin was removed! What made it hurt more is that my technician have to clean it with another round of threading. Sh*ttttt!! As of writing it

Kapitolyo Gastro Park

How We Got There: From the condo, we got ourselves a tricycle (same if you're coming from Robinsons Pioneer), got off at Williams St. (Bayanihan compound) and walked towards Kapitolyo entrance (Jollibee). We made a left at the street after Chinabank (in front of ACE Water Spa) and there it was. We got there around 5pm so there are not yet a lot of people. We were able to get a good seat where the fan blows right our spot. Our visit this time made us try 3 stalls: Para, Surfries and Bagneto. Surfries [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="2000" caption="I can't remember the name fries haha"] [/caption] [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="2000" caption="Raspberry Bowl, good for 2-3 ppl"] [/caption] The fries are a bit salty, but really cheesy. The raspberry bowl is the bomb! It's almost close to impossible to finish with us just two. Bagneto It's cute that their logo looked like a pig wit

FJ Traveller's Inn

[gallery ids="2500,2499,2502,2503,2501,2498" type="rectangular"]   Whenever we book hotels/inns, other than the price, location is very much important. We got one nearest to Ina ng Laging Saklolo (Tagaytay) , which is the church of the wedding we're attending. They didn't ask us for any deposit but have considered our reservation anyway. They even had a guy who waited for us when we arrived 1am and more than happy to direct us to our room. My very first impression when we got the place was how fragrant it is. It smelled really clean. Granted, there's not much stuff on the the room, but it had the basics. And look, 4 pillows. Whaaat! The bath is also clean, they even have a bidet and a working heater at the shower! They only provide soap as toiletries, but then again we don't have any issues on baggage allowances here so we brought everything we needed. The aircon works, the tv has cable and the place is peppered with sockets. Good for charging all

T&J Travels #3: Bohol 2015 (Part 4)

We've been sleeping pretty much the rest of the ride when we were at Lito's car but were tired just the same as soon as we reached the hotel. We woke up late (I think around 8am), had breakfast (silog again!) and shopped toiletries at Alturas. It's really convenient being able to go to and fro via tricycle, no need to know routes compared to jeeps. + Chocolate Hills Adventure Park (CHAP) + We haven't acquired any services from Tatsky (Lito's boss) today so we decided to commute. We got another tricycle up to Dau terminal where we took the Carmen bus. If you'd remember, the famous Chocolate hills although scattered at the island have it's main attraction at Carmen, which is also our destination for our day adventure. It was a really long ride we've arrived past lunch time. We haven't had lunch so we thought it best to eat before we start with our Ironman Package. Our first option was the buffet near the reception of CHAP but looking at the dishes, ther

+ Blood Compact Site + Nothing much, we would have stayed longer but since we're running out of time to finish our Bohol-Panglao countryside tour, I only took a single photo.  I didn't even get close to it. (No thanks to the loitering photographers who doesn't like to give way) + Bohol Bee Farm + An informative tour, this is also one of the guided tours I have truly enjoyed. He has shown us around, quizzed us as well and never stopped urging us that it's safe to hold over our heads a colony of bees. An eco farm, I would have loved to dine in as well to try out their offerings but we're already running out of time. For the meantime, we've enjoyed their famous ice cream! + Hinagdanan Cave + Seriously, we got in and out less than 10 minutes. We've descended the steps to a cave of birds (the ones who have their nests cooked as soup) which was also converted as a pool for everyone to swim at. Although everything is a bit slippery, the cave is a far cry from what

+ Man Made Forest + Probably one of my favorites! We absolutely loved the breeze here, it is cold and worth coming back to and fro. We were told that the trees here are protected, that even if a tree does, it is just left to root on the side. Fun fact: did you know that the trees right here are fruits of labor of students who were instructed to plant trees by Imelda Marcos so they can pass high school? Amazing. + Tarsier Sanctuary + Really disappointing. Those photos of people neck and neck with tarsiers is a lie! You cannot go near those cute animals and while I know they are on night shift and prefer to sleep day time, I felt so broken hearted not being able to see then up close nor hold those fluffy fragile body. I know I know. + Pasalubong (Agad!!) + Due to our frustration of not being able to squeeze a tarsier body (calm down we haven't done anything!) we just bought ourselves pasalubongs. Reagan has his standard shirt, I got my 3rd ref magnet. What's funny though is that
