Crepe-y date at Cafe Breton (6.12.13)

Image
We've always wanted to visit Cafe Breton but we never really have the chance. That moment came after watching Man Of Steel. We head on to a cafe that may be filled with patrons, but a quarter of chaos compared to popular cafes. Due to the number of people, it took them a few minutes before giving us the menu, getting our orders, serving them and billing us. The nutella crepe (220) was perfect in my tongue. It wasn't disgustingly sweet nor bland. Reagan had peach that has hints of alcohol as he claims though i could not confirm when he gave me a bite. The strawberry shake is also perfect, you know you're drinking strawberry and not 'just hints of' We have not tried sandwiches but I assume the quality of the food we tasted would be the same with their other menu items. I hope we can try those someday! And oh, before I forget, all crepes are for sharing. It just so happened we're ravenous eaters haha! posted from Bloggeroid

DIY Binondo Food Wok (5.25.13)

Image
A few weeks back, my officemates and I decided to go on a Food Trip at Binondo. I know there are tours specifically for this, aptly named as Binondo Food Wok and we decided to a DYI. Here are the restaurants/shops we cleared: New Po Heng Lumpia House Serves Lumpia and Mami. From Binondo Church go to your back at the left. It's a fork road, take the right side of the street. You should be able to spot their sign if you peek at the eskinitas there. It looks like your regular carinderia only with Chinese bosses. I got their lumpiang sariwa (50 pesos). It was a huge lumpia heavy with filling. John our officemate also ordered mami which although served in a small bowl, towered in height (I haven't tried it maybe next time). It was our first stop and it's already heavy. I loved the sauce of the lumpia which complements the fresh taste of the filling. Cafe Mezzanine After Po Heng, walk towards the street ahead, and again, pass through one of the nearest eskinita you&

Concerts: Off to Wanderland (5.19.2013)

Image
Do you know what's amazing at this concert? It's the first musical festival here yay! We all know about Coachella and Woodstock and most of us don't really buy those so called Pinoy Rock Concert fests because of the heat, sweat and unnecessary touching of people but now is an exception. My bf loves music so much that we wouldn't miss this one for the world for one reason: Temper Trap. I've only known of the band from him and obviously they're the only band we bought the ticket for. Save for Neon Trees, which is best recalled by their song The Animal. The schedule for Temper Trap was not until 11 so we had a whole day ahead. We had buffet at Alba's, went to Crescendo Fairview to join their Aerosmith raffle (BTW my bf won an Epiphone) and back to Ayala. It also took us some time to find this so called Globe Circuit and when we finally arrived, Nada Surf was on. We roamed around, waited in a long queue at Shawarma Bros, ran back to the VIP

Concerts: The Blockbuster that is Mraz (5.14.13)

Image
Two of my officemates are die hard fans (they won't find this blog anyway haha) of Mraz and they were very keen in his second coming (ba dum tss!). They didn't have very good seats last time so we spent more than we should, garnering seats at the pit, perfect to see him in person. It was raining that night and it was unfortunate for the throng of fans lining up just to get in. We're lucky to get in as quick with the tickets we have AND, what do you know, they allowed our camera in yay! I thought the guard haven't noticed it so we snickered that we 'sneaked' the video camera in so imagine it wiped out when the girl in front of us by the door has a tripod tucked in her arm. What the. I could not believe how many we are inside!! It's ridiculous how Araneta was filled to the brim! So this is the effect when you watch a really popular act :-) I am not exactly a Mraz fan but I admit to admire at an unusual thing he did that night. He actually introduced Zendee as

COMS: Chocolat-Ey Heaven

Image
My sweet tooth is at it again. I missed chocolate for so long I really must have a slice. So I grabbed my sister to MoA and headed straight to Chocolat. Death by Tablea is a slightly bitter chocolate cake while Chocolate Caramel is leaning on very sweet, I think my teeth started rotting then and there. The flavor of both cakes didn't deviate much with each other so I think there is nothing to recommend about. However, I fell in love with their Pistachio Milk Shake. The pistachio is a delight to both the nose and tongue. I liked it much more than what I came here for. Interested in this milkshake? Grab one at MoA right now :-)

COMS: Savory Overload at Buffalo's Wings N' Things

Image
Before watching Slash, we decided to have a quick dinner at Buffalo's Wings N' Things at Megamall. I had my office mates eat here once but the price of buffalo wings is just not proportionally equal to servings so we didn't eat here again. My bf hasn't tried it here yet, and I really liked their nachos so I recommended us there. Well, other than the Buffalo Wings, Nacho's with dip are served generously per order. Nachos taste the same anyway, but here's a photo to stimulate your tastebuds. Unlike my first time, we now opted one order each. Be aware that when they say they have 6 pieces per order, it's actually 3 wings chopped in half. However, if you can take the pricing, it is wonderfully flavorful. If only the price could get lower. We got their basic buffalo sauce, not even close to their extremely hot sauces available. We also got curious with their Mini Burgers. When it arrived, we wished we didn't order one each :-(
