Smashbook Project

Image
Ever since my Japanese class has ended, I feel like I can get back to my hobbies before. So far I have already read 3 books and I'm already a quarter of the 2nd book of 1Q84. I have also decided to revive my scrapbooking 'career' which no one knows but I'm doing anyway. But it looks like as if I am now more inclined in to making my own smashbook. Smashbook is actually a brand, it promoted the most basic scrapbooking/journaling even before scrapbook became a trend. Some bought smash kits but there are those who chose to build from scratch. I'm taking that route, not just because of the unavailability of the kits, but this is a challenge I would very much take. I have already seen what most have done and I would like to try it out too because unlike scrapbooking, this is more chaotic, unrestricted mash of memories, embellishments and everything in between, which is what I' doing with my current scrapbook anyway. It's not that I have abandoned my scrapbook, it&

TME: DFA Megamall Passport (03.Oct.2012)

Stupidity #1 Appointment Ever since we've heard how DFA is having a branch at Megamall, my boss and I was relieved of the sudden convenience. We are both up for renewal but don't have the time and effort to expend at Macapagal. So at one time I quickly set an appointment online (Monday, Aug 27) only to find out that I am on the wrong site!! I didn't notice it at all because both DFA and Megamall appointment sites look and feel the same. It took a lot of chiding from my boss to simply reapply again (but also I called their customer service in case they'd put it against me that I've already applied earlier) at the Megamall site, and there it was, I am scheduled on Monday next week, Sept 3. Stupidity #2 By 11am, I got out of the office. Normal office break is within 1130 to 130 and I thought it is better for me to come early and finish early. I walked as fast as I could (Megamall is walking distance from office). When I arrived I realized I haven't scouted h

TMW #1 Things to do if you feel like you're dying

Image
I promised le boyfriend that I will show him my short stories when I was younger and I ended up digging through my Drafts folder. It is amazing to see the things I wrote by my earlier self and I wish so bad I could be like that girl before who writes effortlessly. Here is one of them cute sweet ones. I copy/pasted it here, my comments are in italic: things to do if you feel like your dying (see my naive self not knowing that it's supposed to be you're ) image created through decosama/watermark via a+ signature 1. cry if you must 2. try to get out with your most unlikely friends 3. walk with a friend in your subdivision or something, or if you have a huge campus where you could just roam around, do it. 4. if you are into animals, try visiting wildlife or any zoo. creations of God usually help if you just know how to look at it in great appreciation. 5. try to avoid things that makes you feel like you don't want to live anymore. 6. do something very

A+ Signature (Limited for IPad)

Now that I've been using Ipad more frequently than the laptop (my mom's been using it), I need to find ways to annotate watermarks on my posts. So I thought that maybe I can find somewhere that enables me to customize ones, unlike what I've been using for ages now which is in Picasa. Initially I was just looking for an app that helps me create a watermark but what I found also features the user to actually sign! I was so amazed by this that after getting the grip on the free version, I was not able to resist buying the pro version. You can also control the opacity, save your signs for future use, change the color, width etc. If you are not comfortable with yr handwriting, you could always mix and match fonts and designs for text ready watermarks. Verdict: I love it!

TME: 33rd Manila International Bookfair

Image
As my yearly tradition of geekness, I attended the 33rd MIBF. What made me excited this year is that 1. Finally my bf can accompany me here and 2. Fullybooked is now one of the exhibitors. Last year National Bookstore has been my sole refuge for novels because most exhibitors cater to students and academic books. Goodwill has a few offerings, mostly old publications and local ones as always. I already have my list of books but unfortunately none of them are available: Cloud Atlas, Michael Vay and Every Day (they said they have in NBS MOA, take note we are already in SMX, but yeah, it's too ironic that I'm already at this bookfair and yet they suggest me to go their branch. I did later that night but they have no copies still :-(). I did get these 5, however, it is a far cry from my back breaking stash last year: IQ84 by Haruki Murakami (FullyBooked) I've always been meaning to buy it but the first book was so huge and bulky I waited for it to have a much more carry version.

TME: Digiperm Day 6

Image
Been using gatsby cream wax and pantene's anti frizz. Looking good! Although there are a few strings of hair that has already straightened, majority of my curls are still tight.

Babel Rising (FREE for IPAD)

Image
It is safe to say that everyone knows what the tower of Babel is. It is also a wonderful game concept. And If you are familiar with god mode games, this is right at your alley. The objective is simple, prevent the Babylonians from building the Tower by crushing them with different spells through a series of plaques and acts of god disasters. You get to tickle them with your god finger, release a tsunami, have them consumed by locusts and tons of actions more, combining the best type of wrath you set upon the poor Babylonians. The challenges are really time consuming and brings out the best finger exercise you will not notice will work out for a long time. Once I tried playing this before sleeping and next thing I knew it is already past 12! It is amazing that this is truly free. The graphics are cute and the squeal and singing of the Babylonians are something to look forward to making me disable my gadget out of mute mode. There are also a lot of stages (as of this writing I'm at

TME: Digiperm Day 1

Image
This is the First day. I am not sure on what product to use so I bought some oil and cream wax from gatsby. It is somewhat dry which I guess was the reason why they said to only use conditioner for the first two days. The curls has also loosened down that It made it look like I had the treatment much earlier.

SNAP: Digiperm at Beauty Brick

Image
My mom is having a rebond as we speak so I'll be using this time to blog about my experience here in Beauty Brick. My digiperm hair has long been overdue and it's all attributed to not seeing a really good salon where to have one. I'm also skeptical on how it will look at my round face so I kept on stalling. But when my mom requested for a rebond, I took the chance to also have my hair done. I can't recall exactly how I found the salon online in the first place, but I was so glad I did. I have only stumbled one account of how their hair was fried due to long exposure of medicine AND that was because their staff was not able to handle them all at once. It was a holiday. So I decided to make an appointment on a workday, today, Monday. We came there 30mins early but prompt out for breakfast, which is actually hard when everyone actually greets each one that comes the door. My inner (not, not Goddess, E.L. James) introvert self almost ran out of the unexpected attention. Wh

PS: Removing Labels in Blogger

Click your blog in the dashboard. Go to Posts. Click on a label (clickable orange text next to the blog title). You may also click on on the upper right dropdown list of labels to show the specific label you want to show. The list will refresh to show you which posts use that label. Click on the tag icon and choose from the drop down menu the label you want to remove from that post. Take note that if a post DOES NOT HAVE THAT LABEL, it adds the label automatically. All posts selected SHOULD have that label to have them removed. If successful, a message will prompt of the removal. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TIP: If you are decluttering labelsin batch, make sure that before proceeding with the next label, REFRESH that page first. This act makes sure that no blog has been ticked. I almost have thrown my laptop when after removing a label, it adds them to multiple posts afterwards :-( Another behaviour you should be aware of: once there is no post with that label, that label will
