TME: Korean Culture Center

Image
So my Korean addict sister failed to attend the Korean Festival of sorts of KCC the last time so she ended up closely monitoring the site for future events. One of which was the free movie showing on site. After work they came to fetch me (she was able to convince our parents to come with) and so started our not so nice first time trip from SM Megamall to Taguig. I don't have a car of my own yet so in spite of travelling to and fro quite a few times (the latest was me and my java counterpart, our system user and our boss went to S&R just to eat at their food section; we even went undertime wahaha) I've no idea which direction to use. I did print a not so helpful map so we ended up asking almost every step of the way. 6:30 was the call time and we arrived 10 mins late. We almost lost hope when we reached St.Luke's but to everybody's relief KCC is a stone's throw away from the hospital. And learning of where it is I also now know where Garage 88 is :

TME: Hooray Saltimbanco! (8.11.12)

Cirque du Soleil is one of the names that I never forgot when I heard it when I was younger. I was fascinated by them and would have loved to see them in person. Years later, and now that I can afford it, I took le bf to watch. Our schedule was just too awful this day that none seem to have been in my favor. We got to the ticket line late, first we went to a different lane that does not offer any seats for Lower Boxes anymore so we went to the SM line. They do offer the 10% discount for SMAC/BDO Rewards user (that's why you are seeing a different price here). It was a nice promo although because of a faulty system they have, and I'm trying to be kind here, we came in late. I can see from the eyes of the cashier how panicked she was while I kept on giving her an annoyed face. Next annoying thing of the day was how the guards never let my camera in. I swear I called customer service before we came in and she said that cameras are okay! I'm so going to get back at h

ANSBR: My Thoughts on 50 Shades of Grey

One of my users is a bookworm (I'm using the word in a good way) and she recommended me this way back. It was prior to the influx of fans who fell head over heels over a book that I could not even read halfway. When I was in high school, the time when most girls begin to imagine romantic things, watch Dawson's Creek and memorize 80s songs* we also formed a habit of reading pocket books. Yes, yes, as embarrassing as it is, I've read Precious Heart Romance pocketbooks and other pocketbooks both foreign and local I can get my hands on. I think it was worth 5 php a day of rent, or if I'm lucky, a classmate would lend me one. You could say for a time my image for a guy was within the boundaries of what pocketbooks describe. I admit, I fell for the trap of imagining I'm the heroine. And that my dear readers, is the only reason why Twilight worked. BTW I stopped reading this when I became a college student. A few years later, the covers are badly photoshoppe

Xin Wang Hongkong Cafe (8.11.12)

Image
After a wondrous afternoon of Saltimbanco and helplessly looking for a Black Forest cake*, we decided to have dinner at Xinwang. I've been seeing this store for some time now but it is one of the new ones I notice in MOA together with the always jam packed JCO.  Garlic Porkchop with Rice (195). Comes with mixed veggies and a slice of tomato and cucumber which you can find in any grocery. The porkchop was, unbelievably crispy. Yes, crispy. I was expecting your typical gravy laden chops but hey, the taste of the sauce is thumbs up! And the fact that it's crispy and a fair serving?  Why not! Rotti Prata with Curry (195) is not disappointing but not even something to remember too. Orchard Road has their curry to be spicier, but the actual rotti is less condescending than Makan Makan's. Comes in two patties, not too oily or dry and is really soft. Spicy Seafood and Rice (with egg) (200++). Comes with a really large plate. Not spicy at all but the flavors are superb. I wonder wha

REFMAD Farms

Image
REFMAD Farms is another part of our itinerary that was not originally planned, nor was advertised elsewhere. But we are always eager to try out any place worth visiting. Since tourist markers are not anywhere near, we almost got lost. But we got there anyway, and the farm was not as I expected. The first time I learned about Dragon Fruit was when I read it on Reader's Digest. It looks weird and cool at the same time. But when we got to the farm, I realized I have no idea what it's tree looks like. Basically, dragon fruit is a fruit of a cactus. So what you see up there are just dead trunks aiding the cactus to grow up. What's also cool about it is the extremely long time it bears fruit. Other than the farm, they also have small sanctuary places where you can just stroll and meditate. What you are seeing above is a souvenir shop. Next to it is a small pool in case you missed swimming. Not a lot of people around so you have all the place for yourself too. Be aware though that

Concert: Megadeth Of My Ears (07.29.2012)

I have to come clean with this-- just for the record, I really am not a fan. My tolerance to really extremely rock sounds especially if I can't sing with it is just too low. But I do know 1 song. And when I mean 1 song, like I know the lyrics to the chorus, which is one of their hits, Angry Again. Although I realized I also have heard Symphony of Destruction (once I think) but the the only word I AM sure with that song is the 'Sympho-ny!!!' part where you have to yell it in that fashion. So me ending up in a really close proximity with them is all attributed to the fact that I love my bf so much I bought us (it's an anniversary gift yay!) platinum tickets. We are so close my puny phone actually have some good shots mind you. As always, we came there almost late. Like 30 mins before 8pm late. The queue was so long too that I was at shock. But, but, when we asked again, that line is for gold tickets! So we confidently walked up front, to the platin

If you work with a computer, chances are you have a screenshot grabber that you use to prove a point. You can attach it to email and such. As for the tablet, there is also such a thing. The interface is user friendly, you can get by without any help. I usually just do a screenshot and edit it with it. One of my recent blogs utilized this fully. It basically has the basics covered, an arrow, changeable colors, free hand drawing and shapes. Verdict: For a free app, this tool is really handy when you are on a tablet more often than a pc. It's not like as if instagram can help you point out certain areas in your photo right? 4 out of 5 stars, 5 if they update the crop option. I hope I am able to control what to crop.

PS: BPI E-Prepaid to Paypal

Image
NOTE: If your question is answered on the post itself, don't expect any replies. You are just insulting me for not reading what I painstakingly wrote. So now you have your BPI E-prepaid credit card eh? If you have the same reasons as mine in getting one, which is using it for online purchases, you must be itching to attach it to Paypal. Here's a fairly easy guide on how to do that (much easier than typing in Ipad I tell you) Like I mentioned in my BPI E-prepaid post, once you receive your card you have to enroll it online so that you can fund your card without going to the bank personally. You need to bring the print out to the nearest BPI branch. If I remember correctly it took a week before it appeared on my online account. But since this is a credit card, it will NOT appear on My Portfolio, but rather, on the reload options. Now going to Paypal, sign up if you still don't have an account at www.paypal.c om Go to My Account > Profile > Add/Edit Credit Card
