TME: Bonifacio Global City Parade (05.28.11)

One of the things that I truly enjoy are parades. I enjoy them a lot because as a sedentary individual attending one does not require any talent or exertion of too much effort at all and it's usually free. Last Saturday was the first ever BGC Passion Parade. I do have low expectations since it's the first and yeah, I forgot to tell that to my date. You could say it was a fleeting blissful moment, with an emphasis to fleeting. It was drizzly that day and we were troubled that they’d cancel this event. We’d never know of course unless we ask someone. At first we were contemplating on whether to ask a guard but most often they’re the most unreliable people to ask. So we went on walking till we saw queues of families who have balloons made for them, not sure if that requires a fee. We would have but it’s sort of awkward. We then walked further until we reached another street, what that is I don’t remember as well, but you can see a rerouting which only means the

Concert: To Be With Mr. Big (05.10.11)

It's been weeks since the big day but I can still feel the good ringing in my ears of the twang of guitars and a screaming crowd. I've been meaning to write a blog about this since the day I came home tired and sleepy but was too exhausted (and busy) to do so. So now I'm exerting some huge effort to recall all the things I've experienced for more than 2 hours of a really wonderful evening. I know I won't be making anyone any favors by writing something too late but it's an experience worthy to be immortalized. Unlike from the last  concert , today we had plenty of time in our hands to wait for an overly packed MRT and a slow (unfortunately salty) dinner for two. Also, we weren’t that worried that time because Mr. Big have two front acts, Lip Service and General Luna. And when we came, well, first band was already playing. Call me rude but I really can do away with no front acts—although it will save the flamer who would hate me to know that I’m not

Mangan Tayon (03.27.11)

The earliest recollection of mine ever being in Baguio minus the time when I was still very young, was when I was there in the summer of Grade 5. I remembered Mines View being an ideal place to take photos of the ‘view’ then but when I came back a few times later, I can’t say I’m pleased with being there anymore. There are just too many stores and people I had the feeling the place is too overcrowded. But how overflowing of them in the number of stores, is their lack of a proper place to eat. In our search for a non-too main stream food stop we ended up in a not so popular place with no customers. You can easily miss it though, since it’s situated right at the edge of a small commercial building we thought wasn’t opened yet (it was already lunch time). Mangan Tayon in literal terms: Let’s Eat.   Terribly hungry, we then decided to eat there anyway. Their menu has nothing we haven’t tasted yet so we ordered at random. Bagnet, Asparagus stir fry and the man killer,

Always for the win, Café by the Ruins (03.07.11)

There are only a few restaurants in Baguio that have impressed foodies and regular customers alike and one of them (based on blogs anyway) has got to be Café by the Ruins. So of all the times I’ve been in Baguio it’s a shame I have never ate there yet. So when I was more free in insisting where I want to go (I was with friends at this trip), I’ve already brainwashed them to give in with my whim.   I rarely endorse ordering bread before a meal since it’s too heavy, but with my enthusiasm, I actually got everyone to order their well known kamote bread. There were four of us so we had the chance to order all four spreads they have on the menu. Next was the actual meal. They didn’t have group meals (as far as I’m concerned) so we ordered each on our own. This is the second time we dine out and I still ordered the bagnet meal. Someone also ordered drinks, and I’m not sure now what those are, but they were fantastic. All those meals are then served with soup. Sadly, ours came when
